Eliminating World Poverty: for People and Planet
SummaryText
Co-ordinated by the Development and Environment Group (DEG) of the British Overseas NGOs for Development (BOND) network, a 5-page submission document and supporting report developed by a broad group non-governmental organisations (NGOs) calls for concerted and coherent action across government to address the global challenges of eliminating poverty and ensuring environmental sustainability. NGOs such as the World Wildlife Fund, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Oxfam, Action Aid and over 40 other development and environment organisations collectively expressed to the Department for International Development (DFiD) and the government of the UK that the international donor community is failing the poor by ignoring the environment.
