Investing in Information for Development: IMARK Learning Module
The module has been designed for policymakers, senior managers, information managers and trainers in governmental agencies, academic and research institutions, universities, extension organisations, non-governmental organisations, etc.
Contents:
Unit 1 How to invest in Information for Development - This unit is an overview of the main issues that will be covered during the Module.
Unit 2 Information Strategy - This unit examines the main issues a manager has to address during the process of developing, implementing and communicating an Information Strategy.
Unit 3 Information Access - This unit provides an overview of the activities involved in Information Access. Among the aspects considered, are the various sources of information, and how to reduce the costs of information acquisition.
Unit 4 Information Dissemination - This Unit provides an overview of the issues involved in Information Dissemination. In particular, it examines the ones brought about by the transition from print to digital media.
Unit 5 Organization and Management - This unit takes into consideration key management issues, such as organizational capacity, creation of partnerships and alliances, and training and retention of staff.
Unit 6 Evaluating an Information Project - This unit takes into consideration some of the methods that can be used to carry out an effective evaluation of an information project.
